Golden Goose Size Chart: Italian (IT) Sizes Converted to US, UK and JP

Golden Goose sizes are Italian numbers, and the same number can mean two very different shoes in its charts. A size 39 appears in both the women’s and the men’s charts, yet it is a US 9 in one and a US 6 in the other. This guide gives Golden Goose’s published charts for women, men, newborns and kids, with foot length in cm and the UK, US, JP and KR equivalents, then shows how to avoid the men’s versus women’s trap, where Golden Goose’s two kids’ charts disagree, and what the brand does and does not say about fit. It does not say whether the sneakers run true to size, so we do not either. What we can give you is the official numbers, a worked method, and the return rules to know before you buy.

What “Our Size (IT)” Means

Golden Goose labels its chart column Our Size (IT), meaning the Italian size printed on the shoe and used on the product pages. It is the number to start from, because it is the only size that is the same on every chart. Everything else on the page, the US, UK, JP and KR sizes, is a conversion from it, and the page also gives a foot length in cm for each IT size.

That foot length is the most useful column. It lets you ignore the confusing part of the page and go straight from a measurement to a size. If your foot is 26.3 cm, the women’s chart points to IT 40 and the men’s chart to IT 40 as well (26.4 cm). The US and UK numbers you then read off depend on which chart you are on.

Golden Goose Women’s Size Chart (IT to US, UK, JP, KR)

Golden Goose’s women’s chart runs from IT 34 to IT 42, which is US 4 to US 12 and UK 1 to UK 9. Every size is a whole size, and the page lists no half sizes. Golden Goose Men’s Size Chart (IT to US, UK, JP, KR)

The men’s chart starts at IT 39 and runs to IT 50, which is US 6 to US 17 and UK 5 to UK 16. Like the women’s chart it lists whole sizes only. The Men’s Versus Women’s Trap: Same IT Number, Different Shoe

This is the single most useful thing to understand about Golden Goose sizing. The women’s chart covers IT 34 to 42 and the men’s covers IT 39 to 50, so IT 39, 40, 41 and 42 appear in both. The IT number and the foot length match closely, but the US and UK sizes are labeled differently, because those columns follow men’s and women’s conventions.

So a size 39 is the same shoe whether it sits in the women’s or men’s chart. A woman who wears a US 9 and a man who wears a US 6 are looking at the same shoe, the same IT 39. On the page, the pattern is simple: the women’s US size is the IT number minus 30 and the men’s US size is the IT number minus 33, and the UK sizes are 33 and 34 below, respectively. That is our observation from the tables, and Golden Goose does not state it as a rule, so always confirm against the table.

The practical advice is to ignore the US column until you know which chart you are on. Choose an IT size from your foot length, then read the US and UK size from the chart for the gender label of the model you are buying. If you are buying a model labeled for the other gender, the IT number is your anchor.

What Golden Goose Does Not Say About Fit

The page title promises to explain how Golden Goose sizes run, but the page itself gives no answer. It does not say whether the sneakers run true to size, large or small. It lists no half sizes, no width information, and no guidance for wide or narrow feet. The only fit guidance it offers is that you should check the specific fit of each garment in the product description, and to contact customer care if you are in doubt. The women’s Super-Star product page we read adds nothing either: no fit statement, no break-in advice and no mention of insoles.

That matters, because Golden Goose sneakers are often bought for their finish and not for plain athletic comfort, and there is no official line to lean on. We will not invent one. What we can offer is general advice, not Golden Goose’s: if your measured foot length falls between two rows, check the product’s description and photos, ask customer care for the specific model, and use the return window to try the shoes at home on a clean floor.

How to Measure Your Foot for the Chart

Golden Goose gives a method: place your foot on a sheet of paper with your heel next to a wall, mark the point of the farthest toe, and measure the distance from the wall. Repeat the process for the other foot and compare both measurements against the table. That matters because most people have one foot slightly longer than the other, and the chart is arranged by foot length, so you should use the longer measurement.

Convert it to a row by finding the nearest foot length in the table you are using. For example, a longer foot of 25.0 cm lands on IT 38 in the women’s chart, which is US 8, UK 5. In the men’s chart there is no 38, since men’s starts at IT 39 (25.7 cm), so a man with a foot this short would be at the very edge of the range. Kids’ Sizes: Two Charts and a Small Difference

Golden Goose publishes kids’ sizes from IT 19 to IT 40, in two charts. One is for the Ball Star, Sky Star and June, and the other is for the Super-Star, Old School, Francy and May. Both give UK, US, JP and KR equivalents, with US kids’ sizes written with a Y once they pass 13 (1Y, 1.5Y and so on).

The two charts mostly agree on the Italian size and the US and UK sizes, but the foot lengths in cm differ, mainly in the small sizes. Here are examples from the tables.

The page does not explain the difference, so we cannot say whether the shoes are built differently. The safest approach is to find your model, choose the chart for its group, and size from your child’s measured foot on that chart. As general advice, not Golden Goose’s: measure at the end of the day when feet are largest, and check the fit with the child standing.

Newborn Sizes

For the smallest feet, Golden Goose lists newborn sizes IT 16 to IT 18, which are US 1 to 3 and UK 0.5 to 2.5, with foot lengths of 10 to 11.5 cm.

Returns and Exchanges: Read Before You Order

Since the page gives no fit advice, the return policy matters more than usual. Golden Goose says you can return any product purchased on goldengoose.com within 14 days from the date of delivery. Items must be in original condition with all tags attached, and the return shipping cost is deducted from your refund. Returns can only be sent from the country where the order was placed, and co-created products are not returnable. On the product page we checked, the co-creation service was unavailable for some sizes.

In practice, 14 days is short compared with many brands, so try your pair at home soon after it arrives, on a clean surface, and keep the tags and packaging. Policies change, so confirm on the checkout page. This section reflects what the size chart page and a product page said when we read them.

Comparing Golden Goose With Other Sneaker Brands

Because Golden Goose uses Italian sizes and does not publish a fit rating, do not copy a size across from another brand by number. Compare by foot length instead.
