Veja does something most sneaker brands do not: it prints one chart for men and women together, with labels like W8/M6 that show a single shoe in both scales, and it attaches a fit instruction to each style. Some styles are marked as running small, the sandals as running large, and a long list carries no note at all. That is the real sizing question with Veja, and a plain EU to US table does not answer it. This guide gives Veja’s published charts in US, UK, EU and JP with foot length in cm, explains the combined W and M labels, lists every fit note Veja publishes by style, and covers what to do when you fall between sizes. Where Veja says nothing, we say so rather than guess.

Quick answer: On Veja’s chart, EU 42 is a women’s US 11 or a men’s US 9, which is UK 8.5 for women and UK 8 for men, with a foot length of 26.6 cm. For styles Veja marks as running small, it says to order one size larger. For the sandals, one size smaller. If you are between sizes, Veja says to choose the larger one.

How to Read Veja’s Combined W and M Sizes

Open Veja’s size guide and the first thing you notice is the labels. A row might read W8/M6 in the US column and W6/M5.5 in the UK column. It means the same shoe is a women’s 8 or a men’s 6 in US sizing, and a women’s 6 or a men’s 5.5 in UK sizing. The EU size (39 in that row) and the length (24.6 cm) are shared, because they describe the shoe and not the gender label.

This is useful because Veja’s sneakers are sold as one range in many styles. It also means you should never read the table by going straight across a men’s or women’s column from another brand’s chart. Find the row that carries your own label, then read the EU and length figures in the same row. At the bottom of the range the labels split into plain men’s sizes (M10, M11 and up), and at the top of the women’s end into plain women’s sizes (W4, W5), which is why the first rows of some charts read W4 and the last read M14.5.

One practical consequence: if you usually wear a men’s size and are buying a women’s cut, or the reverse, use the EU and cm columns as your anchor. Our men’s to women’s conversion chart explains the general offset, but on a Veja chart you can read the match directly from the row.

Veja Standard Size Chart (US, UK, EU, JP, cm)

This is the chart Veja shows for the Cateyes, whole sizes from US 4 to men’s 12.5 (EU 35 to 47). Veja’s page lists several other styles with the same W4 to M12.5 range, including GT, Jitsu, Esplar, Venturi and Urca, but each style has its own table on the page, so check the table for your exact model. Remember that Cateyes is one of the styles Veja says runs small.

Veja Campo Size Chart With Half Sizes

The Campo chart is the fullest one on Veja’s page. It adds half sizes at the women’s end (W6.5, W7.5) and at the men’s end (M10.5), and extends to men’s 14. Veja lists half sizes for several styles, including V-90, Recife, Wata, Minotaur, Condor 3 Advanced, Condor, Impala and the sandals. Veja gives the Campo no fit note.

Veja Condor 3 Advanced Size Chart (Runs Small)

The running shoes use their own table, and the lengths differ from the standard chart. Veja says the Condor 3 Advanced runs small and to order one size larger. Veja’s page puts the Condor and Impala in the same runs-small group with a similar range (W5 to M14.5).

Veja’s Fit Notes by Style: Which Run Small, Which Run Large

This is the most valuable part of Veja’s size guide and the part most people skip. Each style has a short instruction, and they point in different directions. Here is everything Veja publishes, grouped.

Read this carefully before you pick a size from any chart above. A Cateyes in EU 40 and a Campo in EU 40 are not meant to fit the same way, because Veja tells you to order a size up in the first and gives no instruction for the second. The page does not say how much the fit differs in millimetres, so the instruction is the only guide.

What “Order One Size Larger” Means in Practice

Veja’s wording is plain: “This style runs small. Order one size larger than your usual size.” It does not say whether your usual size means your Veja size, your Nike size or your size in general, and it does not publish internal lengths for each style. A sensible way to apply it is to start from your measured foot length, find that row on the chart, and then move one row up.

For example, if your foot measures 25.3 cm, the standard chart puts you at EU 40 (W9/M7, UK W7/M6). For a runs-small style such as the Cateyes, Veja’s instruction takes you to EU 41 (W10/M8). On the Condor 3 Advanced, which has its own table, 25.3 cm sits at EU 39.5 (W8.5), so moving one size up is EU 40 (W9/M7). The two charts are not interchangeable, which is why the style matters.

Between Sizes: Veja Says Go Larger

Veja gives one rule for half-size situations: if you are between two sizes, choose the larger. That is simple, but it interacts with the half-size gaps in the charts. Most styles list whole sizes only, so a foot that falls between two rows has no half size to take. The Campo, V-90, Recife, Wata, Minotaur, Condor 3 Advanced, Condor, Impala and the sandals add some half sizes, and the page does not state a general half-size policy beyond those tables.

As general advice, not Veja’s wording: if you are between sizes and plan to wear thick socks, going up is easy to justify. If you wear the shoes without socks, a size that is too large can let your heel slip, so insoles or a heel grip are worth trying before you go a full size down.

Veja Sandals Run Large: Order One Size Smaller

The sandals are the one style Veja tells you to size down in. The page says the style runs large and to order one size smaller than your usual size. The sandal chart is separate and extends to men’s 14.5 (EU 50, UK 15, 32 cm).

Because the rule is to size down, apply it to your usual size, then check the row for your foot length. If you wear a W8/M6 (EU 39) in sneakers, Veja’s rule points to EU 38, which is a W7 (UK 5) on the sandal chart. If you are not sure, it is a reason to compare the foot length column directly rather than the size label.

How to Measure Your Foot for Veja

Veja’s guide says its measurements are an estimate of the length of your foot. It does not give a measuring method, so here is the standard one, which is our advice and not Veja’s. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure from the wall to the mark. Do both feet, use the longer one, and measure in the evening when feet are at their largest.

Then compare your length with the cm column of the chart for your style. If the number falls between two rows, Veja says to choose the larger. Our guide to measuring your foot at home walks through the steps with a printable checklist.

Data Quirks We Found on Veja’s Charts

We read the US and UK store pages side by side. The core numbers matched. Two points are worth knowing. First, the Minotaur chart lists the Japanese size for W11.5/M9.5 as W28/M17.5 in both its cm and inch tables, which looks like a typo for M27.5, so we have not reproduced that table. Second, the Impala table was cut off in the version we read, so we do not publish it. If you own either style, check Veja’s own page or contact its customer service, which the guide recommends for doubts.

Comparing Veja With Other Sneaker Brands

Because Veja’s fit depends on the style, do not copy a size from another brand. Compare by foot length instead. If you already own adidas, PUMA, Converse or New Balance, use their charts to find your measured length, then match it to the Veja row for your style. For the wider picture see our US vs UK vs EU conversion guide.

What we verified and what Veja does not state

  • The standard chart is the Cateyes table, and the Campo, Condor 3 Advanced and Sandals tables were read from Veja’s US size guide. The Cateyes chart was cross-checked against the UK store page, and the values matched.
  • The length column is shown as published. Veja describes it as an estimate of foot length and gives no measuring method, so the measuring advice here is ours.
  • Veja publishes a separate table for each style. We reproduce four, and for the rest we give the fit notes and say to use the style’s own table.
  • Veja does not publish a kids’ chart on this page, and it does not give a true to size rating beyond the per-style notes.

Veja Sizing: Your Questions Answered

Do Veja sneakers run true to size?

It depends on the style. Veja says the Cateyes, Salar, Rio Branco, SDU, Dekkan, Condor 3 Advanced, Condor and Impala run small, and to order one size larger. Many other styles carry no fit note.

Do Veja sandals run large?

Yes. Veja says the sandals run large and to order one size smaller than your usual size.

What does W8/M6 mean on a Veja chart?

It means the same shoe is a women’s US 8 or a men’s US 6. The EU size and length are shared.

What is a women’s 8 in Veja EU?

A women’s US 8 (W8/M6) is EU 39, UK W6/M5.5, with a foot length of 24.6 cm.

What is a men’s 9 in Veja EU?

A men’s US 9 (W11/M9) is EU 42, UK 8, with a foot length of 26.6 cm.

Does Veja make half sizes?

Some styles do, including the Campo, V-90, Recife, Wata, Minotaur, Condor 3 Advanced, Condor, Impala and the sandals. The standard chart lists whole sizes only.

What if I am between sizes in Veja?

Veja says to choose the larger size.

How do I measure my foot for Veja?

Veja says its figures are an estimate of foot length but gives no method. Measure your longer foot from heel to the longest toe and match it to the cm column.

Does Veja have a kids’ size chart?

The size guide pages we read show adult charts only.

Is Veja sizing the same in the US and UK?

The chart values matched across the US and UK store pages. The US page labels rows in US sizes first and the UK page lists UK first.

A Short Routine for Choosing Your Veja Size

Choosing a Veja size is a two step job: find your row from your measured foot length, then apply the fit note for your style. Order up for the styles Veja marks small, down for the sandals, and go larger when you are between sizes.
