Sonic and Amy Rose Get the Heelys Treatment
Heelys has teamed up with SEGA on the Sonic the Hedgehog x Heelys Gio Collection, and it is already on sale. The capsule takes the Gio, a fan-favorite Heelys style, and gives it two character looks for $70 a pair.
What is in the collection
The lead pair is the Sonic Gio, finished in the hedgehog’s signature bright blue with gold ring graphics across the upper. The second pair is the Amy Rose Gio, done in all-over pink with printed sparkle detail on the heel counter. Both keep the recessed heel wheel that lets you walk normally and roll when you want to.
The collab leans on Sonic’s Green Hill Zone heritage for its details. SEGA of America’s Alexander Gomez said the partnership blends gaming culture with innovative footwear design, and Heelys’ team said fans have been asking for this one for years.

Who it suits
Heelys has always sat between a sneaker and a toy, so this is aimed at Sonic fans, nostalgia buyers and anyone who wants a rolling shoe with a bit of personality. At $70 it costs more than a basic kids sneaker, but you are paying for the licensed design and the wheel. If you are new to wheeled shoes, learn the basics first and think about wrist guards and a helmet. Heelys links protective gear and a how-to guide from its collection page. If you are unsure of your size, use our shoe size conversion chart and calculator before you order.
Where to buy
The collection is available now on the official Heelys Sonic page and at select global stockists. The Heelys page currently lists the Sonic Gio, while Hypebeast reports the Amy Rose Gio as the second model, so check the page for what is in stock in your size. Limited-edition licensed drops can sell out, so do not wait long.
If you want a different Heelys look in the meantime, the brand’s core styles are easy to find.
