INVINCIBLE and adidas Rework the Samba Into a Dress Shoe

INVINCIBLE and adidas Consortium have revealed Form in Motion, a FW26 capsule that rebuilds the adidas Samba two different ways and adds the first shared apparel range between the two partners. Per Hypebeast, the Asia release is November 7, with a global launch on November 13 through selected adidas Originals stores and the adidas app.

The two Samba takes

The first shoe is the Samba Dress Shoe, which pushes the terrace classic toward formalwear. Brogue wingtip perforations and pinked, sawtooth edges run along the T-toe overlay and the side panels, so a sports shoe picks up the finishing of a dress shoe. At the back, the usual heel counter is replaced by gathered, ruched leather that flexes as you walk and shows more texture as the shoe bends.

The second Samba keeps the familiar shape and branding but changes how it is built. Panels are cut and twisted so they overlap, and the raw seams that result are left exposed instead of hidden. Reinforcement stitching borrowed from bespoke leatherwork fills the gaps between the deconstructed panels, and metallic gold foil INVINCIBLE branding sits on the lateral side.

The apparel that comes with it

Four clothing pieces share one playful detail: a woven adidas label that tears away to show an embroidered INVINCIBLE logo underneath. The G-8 Flight Jacket has a boxy, cropped cut with 3D utility pockets and a box pleat down the back that opens in motion to reveal the Three Stripes inside the fold.

The L/S Knit Jersey turns the football shirt into a premium knit, the 1 Tuck Track Pants mix front pleats with long-pile wool, and the 1 Tuck Track Sweat Pants apply the same pleated tailoring to heavyweight cotton.

Release dates and where it lands

A global online raffle ran through invincible.com.tw until November 4 at 12 PM (GMT+8). The Asia launch follows on November 7 at INVINCIBLE locations in Taipei, Xinyi, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Chengdu and Jakarta, plus the INVINCIBLE online store. The global release is November 13 at selected adidas Originals stores and in the adidas app. Hypebeast notes the Samba Dress Shoes are exclusive to Asia, so the second, deconstructed Samba is the one most readers outside the region should plan around. Colorway names, style codes and prices were still listed as to be confirmed.

Who it suits

If you like the Samba but want something that looks deliberate in an office or at dinner, the dress-shoe version is the interesting one, even if it is harder to get. The deconstructed pair suits people who already wear Sambas often and want a variation with exposed seams and a quiet bit of gold foil, not a loud collab graphic.

Compared with a standard Samba OG, these trade the clean, simple look for construction detail. Fit and sizing information has not been shared, so treat the usual Samba sizing as a starting point and check the adidas listing at launch.

Where to buy
